Subaxtreme 3 key Nudge Bar Design Parameters
-
If
you are going to do something, it might as well be done properly,
that’s why all our nudge bars are 76mm (3”) tube,
nothing less. 76mm tube suits modern Subaru vehicles, both in
appearance and strength.
-
With
the exception of the 97-02 Forester, we place our nudge bar mounts thru
the bumper vents & bolt directly to the front of the vehicle
chassis. Many manufacturers take the “easy way” of
mounting underneath the bumper. This method significantly reduces your
vehicles approach angle, causing it to regularly scrap on gutters,
driveways etc.
- Single
row design. Because a nudge bar must be held in front of the original
bumper, there is quite a bit of leverage on the mounts, by nature.
Making nudge bars up to bonnet height i.e. “Two
row” or “Loop bar” designs, significantly
increases this leverage effect. The result is that they end up causing
unnecessary damage to the vehicle in an impact. We believe if more
protection than a single row bar is needed, the next step is a to do it
properly and fit a full bumper replacement bullbar.
